BIG RIDES AND GATORS AT BUSCH GARDENS

It was a late start for us today - Busch Gardens didn't open until 10am, so we had a bit of a lie-in.

We got to the park for 'rope drop' - Dan was not impressed with the rendition of Star Spangled Banner played before we were allowed in - and managed to be the very first people on the two biggest rides. Dan made me go on Shikra twice and I had my eyes firmly shut the whole way round!

With the majority of the roller coasters done by lunch we hit the smoke house and shared a sampler platter with ribs, brisket and chicken wings (exactly the same as we had in Sea World San Diego last year).

With just a few more rides to do we took the second half of the day a bit slower, stopping to look at the animals and gift shops. We're getting good at theme parks when it's just the two of us and seem to get round everything quite quickly.

We left Busch Gardens around 3pm (after Dan got his pressed penny and I got my souvenir photo strip) and hit the local Walmart for a few things we'd need next week (like iPhone speakers for the 'first dance').

After sorting out our suitcases and separating everything out we'd need for the villas tomorrow we headed to Skipper's Smokehouse - famous for its gator ribs - and drove straight past as it was absolutely packed! We ended up at IHOP right next to the hotel instead...not quite the same!

And now to bed, ready for tomorrow's busy day of dropping things off at the wedding venue, meeting the photographer, buying food for the villas, setting everything up for guest arrivals and picking people up from the airport!
