Well, I
think I might have broken Dan already. We've been in Washington DC the past
couple of days and I was kind of on a mission to show him the whole of the city
in the time we had - something which may be considered impossible to some, but
they've never seen my day-planning skills when I'm on holiday.
To give you
a quick summary, it went something like this: Up at 7am, out the door by 8am,
20miles walked (this is no joke, that is actually what our phones said), one
stop for lunch, one stop to put plasters on Dan's blisters, no stop for dinner,
and back at the hotel by 11.30pm.
And I think
we almost did it. Everything apart from Georgetown, the zoo and Embassy Row was
ticked off the list.
Air and
Space, American History, and Native American Museums, check. To the top of
Washington Monument, check. The White House and tour of the Capitol Building,
check. Ford's Theatre, check. All of the monuments and memorials by daylight
AND moonlight, check. Time for shopping, check. Arlington Cemetery, check.
There's probably more that I'm forgetting…
Next stop,
Seattle.
