A little catch up

Not a lot has gone on these past few weeks. Dan went back to the UK for a few days to stock up on Cadbury's {which may, or may not, have been eaten already} so I got a chance to catch up on Nashville. But other than that we've just been working really.

But nothing is ever that dull around here: we've got some more visa drama to add to the excitement.

We submitted Dan's Australian visa application the other week as he turns 31 soon {after which he won't be able to get one}. It'd been sitting there ready since December but I wanted us to have as long as possible to use it, so put off applying until now.

Well, it turns out that Azerbaijan is a high risk country for tuberculosis. So what, for most people, is a simple 48hr turnaround yes, has turned into a three-weeks and counting, hours of research, calls to the embassy in London, visits to the doctor and a chest X-ray. But as we speak his medical report is winging its way to Sydney and hopefully we'll get an answer soon.

We're off to Hong Kong this weekend. It's probably going to be one of the most unplanned holidays ever - there's - basic itinerary, but no maps or opening hours or recommended places to eat or street names translated into Chinese. So I have a feeling we'll be relying on a lot of on-the-spot research this time around. But on the bright side, my post-Baku US road trip is looking great!!
